View to a KILL

I just want to say that I listened to all these people who said views and CCK are the best way to customize Drupal to suit your needs, I did, I thought they had something good going on.

No longer.

I hate views. I'll learn it if I have to. But it's driving me nuts! The workflow is crappy - it's nothing but a glorified templating machine that erases all the flexibility that I used to enjoy hacking template files and combining specific purpose modules and for the most part all it does is replace that flexibility with the capacity to build nifty lists - yes, still lists.

I DON'T WANT LISTS ANYMORE.

Why not just fetch-booty?

Weird... So I was doing my Drupal module collecting for a project and stumbled upon "Fetchgals"

Fetchgals is a public domain webspider used to download and/ or display free content gathered from adult entertainment TGP sites (Thumbnail Gallery Posts). This module provides a user interface for the fetchgals package and automates the entire process. It also allows you to display the content gained right there on your own Drupal site.

Okay FTR I am pro-porn and all that. Until something like this comes up and makes me re-think how, and in what circumstances I can appreciate bootie on the web.

The RSS feed works now.

...and I have a whole new set of questions about how and whether or not pages made using the Views module generate RSS feeds...

Thanks for pointing out the missing feed Pat that would have been a wee bit embarrassing had I not found out early.

I was thinking about the best challenge for a webdesigner is to become their own client for a while. I usually don't have the pleasure of becoming a continuous contributor on the sites I install, and even if I am invested in the ideals of the projects I haven't yet had the opportunity of living with a Drupal site of my own.

Wow, my Drupal Groups Query got 27 comments! + some random gender-talk

I feel both popular and again, a little disingenious because I went on vacation and promptly forgot all about my little post.

Check it out though, I got all the lads at design talking about whether content or aesthetics is at the root of good design for the web.

CSS layouts and Drupal

While i am gossiping about Drupal threads...Removal of gender-specific pronouns from core

I had a rabbi once named Sharon who started a big movement to refer to all the gendered segments of our prayers using neutral or exclusive (...God of our fathers and mothers) terms. She got a holy shitstorm for trying that as well.
