From the National Center for lesbian Rights, Community Mourns The Loss of Beloved Civil Rights Leader Del Martin, 87.

Del Martin was instrumental in many civil rights struggles, from the founding of the first social group for lesbians "Daughters of Bilitis" in 1955 to her wedding two months ago to long-time partner Phyllis Lyon.

My Canada includes sodomy

Phelps crew avoids Toronto protest.

They carried signs with slogans that ran the gamut -- "God is Love," hilarious "Fred Phelps Needs to Get Laid" and "My Canada Includes Sodomy." Protesters from all age brackets (including one baby's very first protest) seemed in good spirits, eager to join together and drown out any unwelcome hatred.

The next time someone asks me why I identify as queer, I am going to say it's because Queers are frickin' hilarious!

So I am up to page three of my essay, which underwent a sea change about 15 minutes ago when I realized I didn't hate the theorist I was reading (Though I still hate his writing style.) - I was just not viewing his work in context - Oh....So it is all about the context.

The essay I am critiquing is about reclaiming queer space and it would read like the most identity politics laden piece of annoying late 90's triteness, save for my brief foray onto the internet (god love the internet) where I found this timeline of 90's queer history.

Yoga: Actually not just for hippies

So I did my first $5.00 drop in yoga class tonight.

I decided, or the purchase of the dress decided me, that today was going to be a "Personal development through activities that make you go broke but leave you feeling awesome days"

Things I learned;

1/ Yoga IS awesome.

2/ I cannot stick one leg straight in the air while keeping the other one flat on the floor. My three o'clock looks like two o'clock with a broken hour hand.

3/ Saying Om in a big group sounds wicked cool - not lame. Who knew.
