For the second day in a row complete strangers have skyped me, tried to chat with me and this time sent a little hug emoticon.

Sorry dudes, what kind of pervert needs to use a chat application to get their rocks off. Go do what normal perverts do: Hang out in a park touching your nuts, then I only have to acknowledge your existence when I am walking the dog. Leave me alone at home I am trying to finish my work.

I am also getting kinda paranoid that somewhere out there is the web2.0 equivalent of the public bathroom stall and some mean mean person has written; "For a good time skype..." and then my skype id. Which is not only incredibly unfriendly but also untrue - ask any of my friends, I am not really a good time. Manageable in short doses, but good is pushing it.

Sorry this isn't sticking to the professionalism plan - but is it really my job to block everyone I don't know who begins their chat with "Hhhhiiiiiii" I thought common courtesy and simple human reticence was supposed to prevent such uncommon invasiveness.

Maybe that's what I'll start doing - offering 2.0 etiquette courses. NO you don't skype a stranger no matter how lonely a a night you just spent. YES you do read blogs and treat that as a measure of your community integration in a relatively non-corporeal, boundary-less, and social proviso-lacking social space.

Oh wait, if you're reading this and not busy dialing up strangers with an F next to gender in their profile than you probably don't need these hints anyways.

Thank God I don't have a short fuse or else I'd really be angry ;)

Thanks ..

I've had this experience too .. my skype name is "Cambodia4kids" and I get weird folks from around the world and especially in Southeast Asia skyping me.
