I feel both popular and again, a little disingenious because I went on vacation and promptly forgot all about my little post.

I had a rabbi once named Sharon who started a big movement to refer to all the gendered segments of our prayers using neutral or exclusive (...God of our fathers and mothers) terms. She got a holy shitstorm for trying that as well.
It's weird how the general argument against using politically informed language is that "It's just a language rule - it doesn't really mean anything.." Well then why are you arguing against changing things so much?
